Captain America joins forces with The Flame and sets fire to Dead Universe

Just another day in Aylesbury… yesterday saw the launch of Dead Universe Comics to wild acclaim. Guests included The Cap, Ape in Cape, Rollo Elias (pictured above), Batman, and a selection of zombies in honour of Will Axtell’s Aylesbury Dead.

The usual suspects in the shape of local creators, born in the fires of the Chiltern Mounds, were also present. Steve Collier (Kaiju Steel), Jon Scrivens (Little Terrors), Matt Rooke (Apes ‘n’ Capes – of course), Brett Uzen (Kuzimu) with a brief guest appearance by Ben Greatorex (Popcorn Comics).

The weather proved a distraction for some who would have otherwise attended but the people who mattered were there and it was a pleasure to see them again and hang out with like-minded madness and raise money for a couple of great causes in the foray…

The lovely Ash – budding journalist – interviewed all the local creators, so we look forward to the final cut of that piece of celluloid history!

The next gathering will be on September 22nd. There will be much new and lovely things to shout about. Miss it, miss out!

That was an awesome day. (I was in the Batman costume)

Apes n capes is a very well made and cool comic. I thoroughly enjoyed issue 1.

    See you in September.

Very kind, Sir. Yours was a great costume. I did want to pin you down at one point and ask which Batman you were emulating…
